NBC has gotten rid of another show in the most recent shakeup at the television network.
La Brea won’t be renewed for a fourth season, and will conclude in the new year.

The sci-fi drama series upcoming third season will air on January 9, 2024, at 9 p.m., Deadline reported on Monday.
La Brea’s final season will be abbreviated, and have a total of six episodes, the news outlet explained.
The program premiered in 2021, following the 2020 pilot being pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown that year, and had 10 episodes.
NBC greenlit La Brea for a 14-episode second season in 2022 after its successful debut.
The Writers Guild of America strike and SAG-AFTRA strike heavily impacted the forthcoming season.
“NBC opted for a shorter season and released actors” amid the Hollywood strikes prior to them being recently resolved, Deadline revealed.
Though NBC’s choice might’ve been beneficial for the TV station, it upset some fans.
Many took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their disappointment.
FAN REACTIONS
“[NBC is removing La Brea] So they can put more reality show garbages on TV smh,” a fan ranted.
Another added: “So unfair. Shop it to another network.”
A third person noted: “At least it’s getting an ending and not just cancelled without answers like so many other shows.”
Someone else complimented that La Brea was a “really good show.”
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT?
The setting is Los Angeles, California, and the world is turned upside down when a massive sinkhole suddenly opens in the middle of the city and sucks in hundreds of people and buildings.
The victims who fall into the sinkhole and survive are left with no choice but to band together to tackle the dangerous world they are now in.
One family is separated, and the show follows their story and efforts to reunite.
Prior to the start of season two, Zea and Martin opened up about what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes, revealing that a lot of questions will be answered.
“There’s going to be some reunions, there’s going to be some character interactions that people have been waiting to see,” Martin explained to Variety.
“Definitely new animals, although I’m not going to say which ones.
“One thing that the show does really well is it answers questions before it poses new ones.”
He added: “It’s not one of those where there are constant unending, unsolved mysteries.
“So there’s gonna be a lot of answers as to what’s going on here.”
“We’re able to explore personal relationships a lot more than we were able to do when we were busy trying to survive, which we’re still doing,” Zea added.
“Jack and Veronica St Clair, they’ve probably had the biggest shift. They’ve traveled literally tens of thousands of years.”
