PIERS Morgan is convinced his coronavirus scare was actually just hay fever after testing negative.
The 55-year-old feared he had the deadly bug when he suffered several symptoms earlier this month.
A day after thinking he might have coronavirus, Piers tested negativeITV
He was forced to take a week off presenting Good Morning Britain until a doctor said he was fit to return – leaving fans devastated.
Today he has revealed he was suffering from the “worst hay fever ever” – and it was similar to the symptoms he suffered when it was feared he had COVID-19.
“Worst hay fever I’ve ever had,” said Piers.
“Know pollen count’s very high, but anyone else getting it so bad? Any theories as to why? Is reduced pollution during lockdown a factor?”
A follower replied: “I was wondering the same thing, plus whether anyone else is having to reassure strangers the pollen-fuelled-sneeze volley with streaming red eyes is chronic hay fever and not anything COVID-y…!”
Describing his symptoms earlier this month, he said: “I developed shortness of breath, a cough and unusual lethary – three possible signs of COVID-19.”
