Leading up to her death, Tina had been living in Kusnacht, Switzerland, with her husband Erwin Bach.

Her rep revealed that she died in the home that she shared with her longtime love.

“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland,” the rep said.

“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.

“Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, USA. She became famous in the late 60s as the singer of the band Ike & Tina Turner Revue, but later she became successful worldwide as a solo artist,” they continued.

“With her music and her inexhaustible vitality, Tina Turner thrilled millions of fans and inspired many artists of subsequent generations.

“Global hits like ‘What’s Love Got To Do With it’, ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘The Best’, more than 180 million albums sold, 12 Grammy Awards, and over three decades of sold-out stadium tours around the world are just part of her unique legacy.”

The rep added: “There will be a private funeral ceremony attended by close friends and family.”

“Please respect the privacy of her family at this difficult time. Further press inquiries will not be answered.”

PALATIAL PAD

Tina and Erwin were living in a $76million mansion in Switzerland.

The home was protected by a large gate and featured a plaque outside that read: “Do not even think about bothering Tina Turner before noon.”

She and Erwin bought the house nearly two years ago, according to The New York Post.

They had been rending another property prior to making the purchase while they waited to obtain their citizenship.

A month before they bought the pricy pad, Tina sold her music catalog to BMG – a German music company – for a whopping $50million.

The home features 10 different structures and overlooks Lake Zurich.

Swiss news reports suggested that at one point, Roger Federer considered buying the property but opted to purchase another home in the same community.

Tina’s mansion, where she spent her final days, spans more than 240,000 square feet.

The property includes a private pond, stream, swimming pool, and boat deck.

The home spans over five acres of land.

Tina and Erwin also owned another property in Kusnacht.

WHY THE MOVE?

In 1997, the What’s Love Got to Do With It? singer opened up about leaving America during an interview with the late Larry King.

She blamed her stardom for her decision to leave the country, saying at the time: “I have left America because my success was in another country and my boyfriend was in another country.”

Tina continued: “Basically, Europe has been very supportive of my music.”

The Tennessee native added: “My boyfriend moved there to run the company and I always wanted to go to Switzerland and I was very happy.”

Tina’s boyfriend Erwin originally hailed from Germany.

TINA’S FAMILY LIFE

Tina had four children with her ex-husband Ike Turner — Ronnie and Raymond, both of whom preceded their mother in death, and the couple’s surviving sons, Ike Jr, and Michael.

Ronnie played bass guitar for a number of his mother’s tours.

On December 8, 2022, the 62-year-old was pronounced dead after paramedics rushed to Ronnie’s home in San Fernando Valley, California.

It was later confirmed that the cause of death was due to complications with colon cancer, per the Los Angeles Times.

Tina took to Instagram to issue a tribute to her son after his death.

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” she wrote.

Raymond Craig, 59, had died only four years prior on July 3, 2018.

He was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Studio City, California.

Tina later commented on her son’s death, noting loneliness as a contributing factor to the horrific situation.

“I think Craig was lonely, that’s what I think really got him more than anything else,” she told ET.

“I have pictures all around of him smiling, and I think I’m sensing that he’s in a good place. I really do.”
