IT was one of the most iconic films of the 90s, cementing Drew Barrymore as the queen of romantic comedy.
And so in a bid to pay homage to her early days as a comedic actress, the hilarious film star re-created her character in Never Been Kissed, at this year’s MTV Movie And TV Awards.

Dressed in a blonde wig, a multi-coloured top teamed with a pair of pink dungarees and her famous braces, Drew, 48, perfectly reprised her role as Josie Grossie.
The mother of two, who split with her husband Will Kopelman in 2016, pre-recorded a number of skits that were played throughout the ceremony.
Unfortunately, the live version of the award ceremony was cancelled due to the Hollywood writer’s strike.
Donning her famous metallic braces, Drew’s character Josie was superimposed into some of the popular films nominated at the ceremony, including Nope and Wednesday, as she searched for her first kiss.
Following a dance off with M3GAN and getting hit in the face by the cast of Top Gun: Maverick, Josie Grossie finally found an unwilling participant to kiss from the film Cocaine Bear.
And in a bid to announce it to the world, Drew yelled: “I’m not Josie Grossie anymore!”
And fans took to Twitter to express their delight. One fan said: “Gotta love the Josie Grossie.”
Another added: “Loving the intro for the @MTV #MTVAwards #josiegrossie is killing it! #drewbarrymore.”
Meanwhile a third wrote: “Long live Josie Grossie!!!!”
In solidarity with the writers strike, Drew released a statement that read: “I have listened to the writers, and in order to truly respect them, I will pivot from hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards live in solidarity with the strike.”
