Kim Kardashian slammed as ‘out of touch’ for demanding fans buy $19 smoothie at luxury LA grocery store

Kim Kardashian slammed as ‘out of touch’ for demanding fans buy $19 smoothie at luxury LA grocery store

KIM Kardashian has been slammed as “out-of-touch” after urging fans to buy a smoothie costing $19.

The 42-year-old reality star promoted her hairdresser friend Chris Appleton’s new apple-flavored drink at the luxury grocery store, Erewhon, in Los Angeles.

Kim showed off Chris’ “Apple-disiac” smoothie in a video on her Instagram Stories, telling fans: “I cannot wait to try this!

“It’s supposed to have all these hair vitamins and supposed to be really good for you… so I’m so excited.”

She captioned the clip: “It’s so sweet and delicious.”

Chris’ purple-colored smoothie is said to contain collagen powder, flax oil, apple juice, coconut meat, beet juice, banana, pineapple, sea moss, coconut flakes and pitaya powder.

Critics were “shocked” that Kim was trying to get fans to buy such an expensive drink.

One shared a screenshot of her post on Reddit and wrote: “Kim promoting Chris’ $20 smoothie.”

A user commented: “She’s so out of touch it’s shocking.”

Another added: “Isn’t that guy a hairdresser ?? So what’s a smoothie got to do with his brand?

“These people well peddle any random crap at us… like no one asked for a smoothie from a celebrity hairdresser.”

This isn’t the first time Kim has been accused of being “out-of-touch” or of “flaunting her wealth.”

Earlier this month, the SKIMS founder came under fire for showing fans her “excessive” fruit and vegetable garden at her $60million mansion.

‘EXCESSIVE’ GARDEN

Kim displayed the artichokes, hass avocados, apples and apricots in her huge backyard.

She then filmed a pomegranate tree, an orange tree and a bunch of fresh jasmine.

The Hulu star finished off by sharing a picture of some “freshly cut” vegetables including broccoli, lettuce, and cabbage.

One critic wrote: “Feels excessive but hey what isn’t when it comes to the kardashians. Did she end up actually paying her service staff?”

Another added: “Well, I’m sure she didnt build it, plant it or take care of it.”

Kim and her family also faced ample backlash over their holiday season late last year.

FAN BACKLASH

In December, the SKIMS founder came under fire for letting her daughter North, nine, decorate her Christmas tree with $100 bills.

North gave a tour of the tiny tree in her all-pink bedroom in a video on TikTok, set to Ariana Grande‘s holiday song Santa Tell Me.

She showcased each new ornament as she placed them on the tree.

They included decorations that were made to look like rolled wads of $100 bills, sealed stacks of the same currency, and classic film cameras.

Critics were less than impressed, with one writing on Reddit: “Lmfaoooo with everything going on they think this will make them more likable? Tacky af.”

“This is disgusting wow,” chimed a second.

Kim was also slammed as “out-of-touch” for hiring a pianist to play Christmas songs in their living room for her four kids every morning.

She posted a video of her lavishly decorated Christmas tree and the musician playing her baby grand piano.

She captioned her post: “It’s that time of the year…

“@philthekeys comes over every morning to wake my kids up by playing the piano while the mad morning rush is happening to calm their little souls and fill it with beautiful Christmas songs.”
