Leading man John Simm heads up the cast again, but there is a new Assistant Chief Constable in town.

John Simm returns to play the titular role of Roy Grace in ITV’s Grace.

His character is a Brighton-based Detective Superintendent, who has dedicated his life to his work.

Speaking about returning to the role, he told ITV: “I’m not just saying this, I enjoy every single day when we are at work.

“That really is the truth. It’s a great job to work on.”

John is best known for playing Sam Tyler in Life On Mars, and The Master in Doctor Who.

His other credits include Crime And Punishment, Cracker, Wonderland, and Strangers.

Richie Campbell as DS Glenn Bransone

Top Boy star Richie Campbell is back playing Grace’s colleague and best pal DS Glen Bransone.

He has starred in every episode of Grace so far.

Speaking about what we can expect from his character in season three, Richie told ITV: “I can’t give too much away but Branson does have this fight with one of the characters.

“They did want to get a stunt man but I said I wanted to do it as much as I can.

“If it gets to the point where you need a stunt double then of course but I love doing all of that stuff.”

Actor Richie is also known for his comedic turn as local bully Tyrone in the film Anuvahood, and his role of Ndale Kayuni in Waterloo Road.

Zoë Tapper as Cleo Morey

Actress Zoë Tapper returns to Grace as DS Grace’s love interest Cleo.

Speaking about how her character will progress in season three she told ITV: “I think we see Cleo in a pretty solid place in when we start the series, but unbeknownst to her there are still some underlying complications, that will inevitably have to come to the fore.”

Away from Grace, Zoë is best known for her roles in other ITV shows such as Mr Selfridge, and Liar.

Craig Parkinson as DS Norman Potting

Actor Craig Parkinson is also back for season three of Grace, in his role as DS Norman Potting.

Speaking about returning to show, he told ITV: “It’s always good to be back on the Grace team.

“That’s the thing about any acting job. You forge relationships very quickly and some of them stick and stay with you for a long time.”

Line Of Duty fans will know him for playing bent copper DI Matthew “Dot” Cottan.

Laura Elphinstone as DS Bella Moy

Chernobyl star Laura Elphinstone is back in the role of DS Bella Moy.

The actress has starred in many high profile TV shows including Game Of Thrones.

She is also famous for being on the receiving end of one of the best lines in Line Of Duty as her character, DI Michelle Brandyce, is told by Kate Fleming to “stop making a t*t of yourself”.

Rakie Ayola as ACC Alison Vosper

Rakie Ayola reprises her role of ACC Alison Vosper, but for just one episode of season three.

Her character will be seen stepping down as Assistant Chief Constable.

Rakie is a Welsh actress, best known for her role as Kyla Tyson in the BBC medical drama Holby City.

She first rose to prominence in the lead role of the 1993 Jeanette Winterson screenplay Great Moments in Aviation.

Rakie has played Hermione in the Harry Potter stage play and was Prime Minister Opal Folami in hit BBC drama Noughts And Crosses, and the second series of The Pact.

Sam Hoare as ACC Cassian Pewe

Sam Hoare is new to Grace for season three and takes over as the new Assistant Chief Constable.

Fans may recognise him from series’ such as Miss Scarlet and the Duke, and The Capture,

The actor has also appeared in BBC One’s Death in Paradise.

When is Grace on TV?

Grace returns to ITV with season three on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

The show will air for three episodes on Sunday nights at 8pm, and they will each be two hours long.
